Positive News Ahead of Eid: Private Madrasah Operational Funds Released, Totaling IDR 4.5 Trillion, Available for Non-ASN Teacher Salaries
The Indonesian government has announced the disbursement of IDR 4.5 trillion in operational funds for private madrasahs, which can be utilized to pay non-ASN teachers, enhancing educational support ahead of Eid.
The Director General of Islamic Education at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Amien Suyitno, confirmed that the total allocation of IDR 4.5 trillion includes IDR 400 billion designated for the Operational Assistance for Raudlatul Athfal (BOP RA) and IDR 4.1 trillion for the School Operational Assistance (BOS) for madrasahs. Suyitno emphasized that this funding can also be used to pay non-ASN teachers, who are predominantly employed in private madrasahs.
The government is committed to improving the welfare of teachers through two support channels. Teachers who have completed the Teacher Professional Education (PPG) will receive the Teacher Professional Allowance (TPG), while those who have not yet completed or passed the PPG will still receive support through the BOS funds. This dual approach ensures that all teachers receive attention and support from the government, fulfilling its commitment to education.
Additionally, Nyanyu Khodijah, the Director of Curriculum, Facilities, Institutional, and Student Affairs at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, stated that the disbursement of BOS and BOP funds can now be processed by madrasahs and RA through designated banks. The Ministry has also extended the deadline for educational institutions still in the process of data uploading to ensure a smooth disbursement process.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs aims to ensure that all BOS funding for the first semester is disbursed before Eid. The total annual BOS budget for madrasahs is approximately IDR 11 trillion, distributed in two phases each semester. Currently, around IDR 4.5 trillion is being allocated to private madrasahs, marking a significant investment in the education sector.
